In 2003, The Onion loved imagining John Ashcroft as part of Universal's Dark Universe, first as a werewolf and now in "Bride of Frankenstein." Plus we have an Arbor Day party gone wrong and a murderer reflecting on his hobby.
First the "wire mommy" references and now chimp scientists-- someone had primate research on the brain!
The Onion writers have incredibly gruesome imaginations. There's also the article where a forensic investigator is reassuring the parents of a murdered teen that at least their daughter probably died quickly.
Great connection! I've tried to put "wire mommy" out of my head, clearly :)
And yeah, I'm not *surprised* by The Onion's dark imaginations, but it's easy to forget! I recently came across their Jon-Benet Ramsey reaction, and ... it's honest, at least. https://www.theonion.com/ugly-girl-killed-1819564191
